1.   How your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent  social g roups or  issues? How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent  social groups or issues?           My music video challenges convections found in other pop music videos, unlike my high school self, I don't have money to  spend on props. As we often see in music videos, there are flashing lights, white and multicolored. The closest I would get too a  spot light is a flashlight. To achieve the good lighting I used thesunlight. The sunlight isn't as dramatic as the lights used in  professional studios, but it was free and decent. Music videos of the time have different backgrounds in almost every shot. Neither did I have the editing skills or green screen to achieve this. I used the world around me. I tried to film in a different location every-time, it was hard because more scenes involved a doorway. The background fit perfectly with the song we chose, so it al

The Final Product

This is the second film I've made this year, and it's definitely my favorite so far. I loved filming, editing, and putting together this music video with the skills I gained from my last project. One thing my group and I could improve on is our scheduling so that we can film and edit in a timely manner. I hope to use the skills I've learned from this project as well as my first one to make an even better final project. Creating a music video for the song "Rude" by MAGIC! was an experience I'll never forget, and I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I loved creating it!

The Final Stretch

Today is the day my music video editing comes to an end. I completed the major steps in the editing process yesterday at  study hall. It's now time to add those finishing touches to give our blog the unique sparkle. I had time today to complete the editing in my second period, which happens to be my Media Studies class. The first thing I did was rewatch the video to see if I missed anything the pervious day. As I was watching our video I saw that some of scenes didn't line up with the music. I was quite taken back by this because I spent so much time yesterday making sure that everything was lined up. I again had to trim and extend the clips, this took me a good 20 minutes. Once I completed that, I got a text from Alyssa she said that our videos didn't line up with the music and the scenes looked sad. I texted her back and told her I fixed the audio and that ill play around in the setting of iMovie to spice up the video a little bit. I headed to the filters first. I first

Today is the day Alyssa and I face the challenge of editing our music video. Neither Alyssa and I are skilled in the world of editing, so this shall be a bumpy ride. I am allowed to move study halls, so I go to Alyssa's everyday. This gives is the perfect opportunity to start editing. Once we arrived I asked Alyssa to heart her favorite clips because she's very picky. Once she finished that I opened up iMovie. When I was ready, I opened up the storyboard blog and used that as a guideline to place the clips in the correct order. However when I did this I messed it up. Some clips were in the wrong spot, which made the music not flow with the clips. This was a quick fix, Alyssa helped rearrange them. I didn't want Cambridge to see the cuts in the video so I fixed that with the help of transitions. I believe I a wide range of different transitions that fix the scene it was going to flow into. I then shortened the clips to the exact moment we needed it at. Once this step was co

Too Many Mistakes!

As I began to put all of our clips together I noticed a bunch of mistakes. For starters we Missed a whole scene, some of our clips were vertical instead of horizontally, and we didn't succeed some of the angles and movements we said we were going to use. There are no room for errors at this point so I contacted Alyssa and we were able to re-film today. The retakes took us quite a lot of time, almost two hours. The first scene we had to film was the scene where Alyssa was standing on the porch holding a heart. We completely skipped over this scene. I am being 100% honest with you, I don't know how we missed this. We've been extremely throughout threw this project. It might have been because we are overwhelmed with planning all of the other scenes. Once we completed filming that scene, we needed to fix the scene with Ripley, my dog, in it. This scene did include the long shot but it was not horizontal. This scene already took over 10 retakes because Ripley wouldn't work

Let's Wrap This Up!

Welcome back to my blog. I already described scenes one through six now it's time to describe scene six through twelve. For the Sixth scene I am going to need to prop up my phone to film this scene because Alyssa and I need to both be in the camera frame. I will be yelling at Alyssa to get off my lawn. Now I would ask my grandma to film but I can't ask her to get on the floor to film that low angle. The next scene is going to include a high angle of a person placing their hands on their heart. This is to show that the dad didn't need to be so harsh with the disapproval of him and his daughters relationship. In the next scene Alyssa will be proposing to me. Nothing can stop love between Alyssa and I's actors. I of course said yes because I am in love. The next scene is an eye level angle of Alyssa and I hugging on the porch. The eye level angle is me, the daughter, disobeying his wishes of me not getting married, at least to him. The next scene is just life after we'

filming blog

Welcome back to my blog! Today Alyssa and I started filming our music video. My grandma picked up me and Alyssa up from school and took us to her house. We used my grandma's house as the back drop for our music video because my parents were at work and it was the easiest to film at. Once we established how we wanted to film we gathered all the props into one room. We decided that the clothes we were going to use had to come from my grandma's closet. There we gathered black jeans, a hat, a cane, and a navy blue button up shirt. While Alyssa was chasing into her manly outfit I prepped the room for our first scene. In that scene there is a pan so I needed to clean the room to make sure it didn't look too messy. We began to film this scene and it took so many tries. According to Alyssa I wasn't doing the pan right so we had to redo it a lot. Once we took the perfect clip, we had to film a scene involving a car. I had to pull my grandma's car out of the garage into the

I Think Were Missing Something

Hey Cambridge welcome back to my blog! Today is the day Alyssa and I begin to film, uh oh one problem, WE DIDN'T HAVE OUR PROPS! Originally Alyssa was supposed to gather the materials for our props, she forgot because it was her dad's birthday. I took a step back to figure out a solution and decided that we should postpone the filming. So on the 5th Alyssa began to prepare the props. That night while I was getting ready for bed a get an unexpected call, it was Alyssa. She called me in a panic talking about how she couldn't find anything to use for the Heart-Shaped cut out. I looked around my house and found a yellow folder. Alyssa told me to open the folder to make it larger. She then told me to trace a huge enough to fit both our faces. Once I drew the perfect heart I cut it out. With this step we killed two birds with one stone. We had the heart cut out for our faces and the full heart where we planned to write the word NO for one of our scenes. I couldn't find a sti
