The Final Stretch

 Today is the day my music video editing comes to an end. I completed the major steps in the editing process yesterday at  study hall. It's now time to add those finishing touches to give our blog the unique sparkle. I had time today to complete the editing in my second period, which happens to be my Media Studies class. The first thing I did was rewatch the video to see if I missed anything the pervious day. As I was watching our video I saw that some of scenes didn't line up with the music. I was quite taken back by this because I spent so much time yesterday making sure that everything was lined up. I again had to trim and extend the clips, this took me a good 20 minutes. Once I completed that, I got a text from Alyssa she said that our videos didn't line up with the music and the scenes looked sad. I texted her back and told her I fixed the audio and that ill play around in the setting of iMovie to spice up the video a little bit. I headed to the filters first. I first tried out this very vibrant one and lets just say it looked bad. It made the sky look white and made me and Alyssa yellow and orange. I immediately clicked off of that one and found a filter that brought back life into the video. It made the sky a nice blue, the grass greener, it also made our plain outfits stand out more. I began to click through animations and there were so many to choose from. I tested out animations like spins, twists, vibrations, zooming in and out, and a bounce effect. You'll have to see what I end up choosing by watching our video. Once I completed the editing I sent it over to my cousin who is a senior at the University of Miami. She is in the school of communications and does a lot of work in public relations. I asked her to be brutally honest and to give me harsh feedback. Boy she defiantly didn't hold back. She gave me her critiques and advice, which was really helpful. I thanked her and fixed what she said needed to be fixed. Once this was complete I was finally happy with the final product. I sent it to Alyssa hoping she was happy with it as well, luckily she was very content. Stay tuned to watch our lovely music video.

Throughout the Mystery short film, The Vision, there was a boy looking for his friend throughout a fever dream and never ended up finding out if his friend was ok or not. There was common sounds like creepy music playing in the background. The lighting throughout the short film was very dark and eerie. The boys bedroom as well as all the settings that were shown throughout the film were dark and made a viewer feel uncomfortable. A common editing tactic in the mystery genre is foreshadowing which means early in the film, a hint is given as to what is going to happen as the plot. Another common tactic is suspense. Suspense is built through ending scenes with cliffhangers, making a character complicated, intense point of view, and hints as to what is to come throughout the film.  I really enjoy the suspenseful part about mystery genre films. Its Me Again

 Hey Cambridge it's me, Carleigh Tripp, again. I am still a student at Fort Lauderdale High School and I am Still 15, however I am turning 16 on December 21st. I joined AICE media studies because I've always found interest in filming and showing my creative side. So far I've had a wonderful time making videos, especially the latest project we completed. The last project was a commercial and the item we choose was the energy drink Celsius. My favorite part of that project was incorporating the angles and editing that we learned in class. I learned a lot on filming and editing, mainly using editing apps and how to create those cool effects through technology.     Short film research: ( The Last Note/Mystery) Hey blogg. Today we will be discussing an award-winning mystery short film called "The Last Note" and pointing out different features within this film. For some background, the film begins with David driving to lake while taking about leaving his wife and all his problems with her. Then David is seen with a body bag which is Catherine and dumps her in a lake. He does this due to catching ehr cheating on him the night before. Once David returns home, he starts drinking a liquor while reading a book named Murder. In the book, there was a note from Catherine and as he reads to there are flashbacks to her putting posion in the bottle. He then relazies as she write “sorry I had to do this , goodbye David” and he passes away.
