Production Blog: Getting Ready to Film

Good Morning, Alyssa and I are going to begin filming next weekend because we are both free. But before we could start filming we wanted to make sure everything was aligned. To do this I FaceTimed Alyssa we were on the phone for about an hour and half just discussing how we are going to film, the props, and most importantly making sure the people involved in our video were free. We added Abril and Stella to the call and worked out the dates, luckily for us they were both free next weekend. Stella and Abril left the call and Alyssa and I really needed to choose the park we are going to be filming at. To do this I picked Alyssa up from school and we inspected all the possible parks. We first looked at Bayview Park and quickly crossed it off our list. This park was very in the open and it didn't have a secluded trail like we needed. This park was also very busy so we just assumed that it was going to be busy on a Saturday afternoon. We then drove over to holiday park and we didn't even get out of the car. This park was also very out in the open. Not to mention it didn't have any trails for running or walking. We drove over to Birch State Park. This park had everything we were looking for, it was secluded and in the woods however we got lost. We had to park near the water and walk to one of the trails and where we exited it was hard to find our way back to my car. Another reason why this park is second on our list is that it has an entrance fee. Yes this isn't too big of a deal but for our video we would need to come back to the park multiple times and that $10 entrance fee can add up. Lastly we looked at George English Park. This was the perfect park for a few reasons. The park was completely empty because the playground was a ways away. The park had a very nice running trail covered by trees and big brush. This park was also very close to my house, where we would be filming other scenes. Since we decided on our park we discussed the props. We had everything we needed except a black beanie to hide Alyssas hair while she plays the mysterious man. Unfortunately I threw out all my beanies because I didn't wear them anymore and Alyssa didn't own any and her brothers wouldn't her borrow any. So we decided that after school before we went to look at the parks we would stop at the Dollar Tree and just picked up a beanie. At the Dollar Tree they din't have any beanies so we decided that a black baseball cap would also do the trick. Now that everything is planned out we will be ready to film next weekend.
