Editing Blog: First Round of Editing

 Hello, welcome back to my blog! Last weekend Alyssa and I finished filming the start of our movie, The Run. Since we were on spring break we decided that the best way to agree on our editing decisions was to FaceTime. Thanks to technology were able to share our screens, so I shared my screen to Alyssa and used the editing software CapCut. We started our editing process by placing our scenes into the correct order. To make sure that we had the correct video clips and that it was the right order we watched the video in present mode. Everything was correct so we began to trim our clips. Since we have a strict time limit we needed to adjust all of our clips. This was really hard tp do because some clips were longer than others and some were shorter. For example in the clip were Chloe FaceTimed her friend Katelyn had to be about 20 seconds and the clip where the Mysterious Man opened the door was about 7 seconds. So Alyssa and I had to find a solution because we keep going over the time limit. We trimmed our clips to the very last second possible so that we could shave off time but also have all the important parts of the clip. After messing around with it for a good couple minutes we made it fit the limit. Once we finished all the stressful stuff Alyssa began to discuss how exactly what music, filters, transitions, and effects we wanted to use. However, as we began to discuss everything my phone died. I had to quickly run to a charger, this happened at the worst time possible because I was worried my changes and edits would save since Ive only used this app once. I plugged my phone in and it took some time to charge checked to make sure everything was how it was before my phone died and thankfully it was. I had to leave my phone plugged in for a while so Alyssa and I decided to FaceTime tomorrow at the same time and complete our editing. I'm really excited to complete our editing due to the fact that our movie came our so well. I'm glad this is what's going to be sent in because I've learned from our pass projects, which is why our movie came out so well. Throughout the Mystery short film, The Vision, there was a boy looking for his friend throughout a fever dream and never ended up finding out if his friend was ok or not. There was common sounds like creepy music playing in the background. The lighting throughout the short film was very dark and eerie. The boys bedroom as well as all the settings that were shown throughout the film were dark and made a viewer feel uncomfortable. A common editing tactic in the mystery genre is foreshadowing which means early in the film, a hint is given as to what is going to happen as the plot. Another common tactic is suspense. Suspense is built through ending scenes with cliffhangers, making a character complicated, intense point of view, and hints as to what is to come throughout the film.  I really enjoy the suspenseful part about mystery genre films. Its Me Again

 Hey Cambridge it's me, Carleigh Tripp, again. I am still a student at Fort Lauderdale High School and I am Still 15, however I am turning 16 on December 21st. I joined AICE media studies because I've always found interest in filming and showing my creative side. So far I've had a wonderful time making videos, especially the latest project we completed. The last project was a commercial and the item we choose was the energy drink Celsius. My favorite part of that project was incorporating the angles and editing that we learned in class. I learned a lot on filming and editing, mainly using editing apps and how to create those cool effects through technology. As we progress through the course I would like to film people who aren't part of the class to get more people than me and my partner.     Short film research: ( The Last Note/Mystery) Hey blogg. Today we will be discussing an award-winning mystery short film called "The Last Note" and pointing out different features within this film. For some background, the film begins with David driving to lake while taking about leaving his wife and all his problems with her. Then David is seen with a body bag which is Catherine and dumps her in a lake. He does this due to catching ehr cheating on him the night before. Once David returns home, he starts drinking a liquor while reading a book named Murder. In the book, there was a note from Catherine and as he reads to there are flashbacks to her putting posion in the bottle. He then relazies as she write “sorry I had to do this , goodbye David” and he passes away.
