  Hey guys, welcome to my blog! I am excited to announce that my group is making a music video to "Rude" by MAGIC! This song falls under the pop genre, where music videos usually have exciting backgrounds and flashy outfits. 

  • In pop music videos, women's costumes include elegant dresses, big earrings, streetwear, heels, and headbands. Music videos that show women wearing elegant dresses and heels include "Hot N Cold" by Katy Perry, "Love Story" by Taylor Swift, and "Dear Future Husband" by Meghan Trainor. Music videos that show women wearing streetwear, big earrings and headbands include "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift, "Shower" by Becky G, and "Want U Back" by Cher Lloyd.                                                   

  • Men's costumes in pop music videos include suits and mainstream outfits such as shorts, hoodies, and neutral-colored T-shirts. Music videos that have men wearing suits include "When I Was Your Man" by Bruno Mars, "Best Song Ever" by One Direction, and "We Are Young" by Fun. Music Videos that have men wearing mainstream outfits include "Baby" by Justin Bieber, "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen, and "Personal" by HRVY                                                                         

  • Props included in these pop music videos include pianos, sports cars, boomboxes, sports balls, and confetti. These props make the music video more appealing to teens, which is the target audience for this genre.                                                                                                                                                    

  • The sets of these pop music videos include stages, backyards, classrooms, and on the street.                                        

  • For sound, many of these pop music videos begin with dialogue.                                                                

  • For editing, many of these pop music videos use slow-motion and colorful filters to add to their appeal.                                                                                                                                                          

  • For camera movements, panning and tracking are incorporated into the music videos to establish the setting.


   1. Conventions and codes found in pop music videos include teens being used as actors, stories based around love, and artists lip-syncing on a stage.


2.  In pop music videos, close-ups are used on the artist's face to show passion and add emphasis to the lyrics. This highlights emotion and adds purpose to the video as well.



3. Pop music videos use pathos by including couples, friendships, and drama in order to relate to the audience's own experiences.

Throughout the Mystery short film, The Vision, there was a boy looking for his friend throughout a fever dream and never ended up finding out if his friend was ok or not. There was common sounds like creepy music playing in the background. The lighting throughout the short film was very dark and eerie. The boys bedroom as well as all the settings that were shown throughout the film were dark and made a viewer feel uncomfortable. A common editing tactic in the mystery genre is foreshadowing which means early in the film, a hint is given as to what is going to happen as the plot. Another common tactic is suspense. Suspense is built through ending scenes with cliffhangers, making a character complicated, intense point of view, and hints as to what is to come throughout the film.  I really enjoy the suspenseful part about mystery genre films. Its Me Again

 Hey Cambridge it's me, Carleigh Tripp, again. I am still a student at Fort Lauderdale High School and I am Still 15, however I am turning 16 on December 21st. I joined AICE media studies because I've always found interest in filming and showing my creative side. So far I've had a wonderful time making videos, especially the latest project we completed. The last project was a commercial and the item we choose was the energy drink Celsius. My favorite part of that project was incorporating the angles and editing that we learned in class. I learned a lot on filming and editing, mainly using editing apps and how to create those cool effects through technology. As we progress through the course I would like to film people who aren't part of the class to get more people than me and my partner.     Short film research: ( The Last Note/Mystery) Hey blogg. Today we will be discussing an award-winning mystery short film called "The Last Note" and pointing out different features within this film. For some background, the film begins with David driving to lake while taking about leaving his wife and all his problems with her. Then David is seen with a body bag which is Catherine and dumps her in a lake. He does this due to catching ehr cheating on him the night before. Once David returns home, he starts drinking a liquor while reading a book named Murder. In the book, there was a note from Catherine and as he reads to there are flashbacks to her putting posion in the bottle. He then relazies as she write “sorry I had to do this , goodbye David” and he passes away.
